Importance of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) as Leadership trait ?

INTRODUCTION

Emotional Intelligence is basically to know, understand and respond to the emotions. It can also be the awareness of how your actions and words affect others .It is key thing in the effective leadership.

WHY IS EQ IMPORTANT IN LEADERSHIP...?
Emotional intelligence very important in any type of organisation. It is very important for a Leader to have a good EQ that means the under standing with his/her employees to make his business more successful and profitable. The leader should treat nicely with his/her employees and always meet them with a happy smiling face which will give a positive energy to them. The leader should always understand the problem of his/her employees like if the employee is facing any bad health condition.

The leader should not treat his employees as boss rather he should treat his employees like his friend or workmates and should also work with them. The leader should include his/her employees in the decision making process and should also take ideas from the employees in decision making or problem solving processes because sometimes the problem can be solved in this matter and the employees will also work happily. The employees should also be rewarded with bonus whenever they achieve any success with that the employees will do more work and more cleanly to achieve success and this will be good for the Employees as well as Organisation.

CONCLUSION
So I would like to conclude by saying that EQ is one of the main traits required in the Leadership. If the employees will have a good image of a leader in their mind so they will never make him sad.so, if the employees will be happy you are defiantly to gain success.

Change Management - Why does Leadership and culture matter when managing a change in an organisational context ?

INTRODUCTION
Change management is the knowledge of how to prepare and help the employees to Strongly and fully adopt the change in the organisation for the further success and Profits of the company. The main focus of the change management processes is to address the people and organizational factors that provide a catalyst to change in the organization. The change can be done in situations like The Crisis means at the difficult situations or it can be when the staff and customers are not satisfied or if there is a new competitor in the market so you need to have a change.

WHAT IS CULTURE AND WHY IT MATTERS ......?
An organisational culture is basically the attiquates or the values of the people working in the organisation through which their behavior is judged. It has been seen in many of the researches that a change puts up a great impact on the company/organisation's culture. The change directly effects the confidence or the enthusiasm of the employee. It also puts up a direct effect on the productivity and innovation process of the company.

HOW TO IMPLEMENT CHANGE IN AN ORGANISATION EFFECTIVELY .....??
For implementing the change in the organisation mostly the John Kottler's 8 step model is used.Firstly,we need to tell the importance of the change which is to be implemented.Second step is to form a powerful coalition means to talk about the change to the high level people in the organisation and take their views.Third step is to create a powerful vision of the change to be introduced. The next step is to communicate the vision to the other employees so that they should get to know about the change very well. The next step is to help people overcome the obstacles. The next thing is to create short term wins so that people should get to know that the change is benefiting. The next step is to keep on telling the vision to the employees. The last step is to anchor the change means to set the change in people's day to day work.

CONCLUSION
So,In the conclusion,I would like to say that a change is very necessary in some situations and it too effects culture of the organisation but by following the 8 step model of john kottler it can become easy to implement the change.

21st century Leadership week 1

INTRODUCTION

Leadership has 6 styles which are Authoritarian,Procedural,Trans formal,Participative and Lassez Faire .I am going to focus on Authoritarian style. Authoritarian style of leadership is the leadership where the leader is having full control on the people working under him.In countries like Cuba and North Korea , authoritative style of Leadership is in function.

ADVANTAGES
The authoritarian leadership style basically have the leader to take all the decisions . So, in many aspects it is very helpful for the organisation. Firstly, The decision is made very quickly in this style as there are not very much choices .Secondly, The work is closely supervised by the leader so there is very less chance of the work being done wrong.Mostly the authoritative leaders are the strict ones so because of that the discipline is also their in the organization.

DISADVANTAGES
On the other side of the coin , there are also many disadvantages of the authoritarian style of leadership. Firstly , It is that everything is dependent on the leader as he is to take every decision. The one way communication system is used in this style where the leader is not answerable to the employees. There is very low employee morale in this style of leadership, very low rate of employees get satisfied in this style.Employee exploitation is very much in this style of leadership as no IDEAS are taken from the side of employees .

CONCLUSION
So, to conclude , I would like to say that this kind of leadership can be best fit in case of MILITARY or in case of any SURGERY in the ongoing 21st century where a quick decision is required and there everyone has to follow the leader.
